Default MY 2000 ODBII Plug Location?

Hello all,

I have a check engine light and I was looking for the Plug. I for the life of me can't find it. I've searched and some say its on the right and others say its on the left side.

Anyone what to tell me where I can plug the ODBII so I can check the CEL?

Thanks,

It's on the passenger side closest to the transmission tunnel. Go out and look, I'll wait here....

2002-2005 drivers side
2006-2009 drivers side, set in a little deeper

P1457.... NOT the gas cap

There's a valve with an electrical connector, looking straight down from the IAC valve. Make sure it's clean. Make sure the hoses going to the valve are ok.

Next valve and connector to check are above the tin shield, drivers side of the car, just in front of the differential.

A non sealing gas cap will set a P1456.

did you mean IAC? IAC has nothing to do with it. I was just using the IAC as a reference to locate the valve below it.

^^^ya i realized that a non sealing gas cap does that but i was just curious if there might have been another reason? i guess if i put more thought into the fact that the IAC is on the intake mani and not a gas tank i wouldnt sound as stupid as i do right now....derdader

But one question i do have is, im no my 3rd gas cap within a year. The only time my check light comes on is when the caps not on all the way. Its like the factory caps wear our supper easy because they will only tighten so much before just wearing out(clicking, and refusing to tighten).
I was thinking there was a problem with the female threds that the cap screws into....could that be the problem as to why my gas caps are continuing to go bad.....its a waste of money, $50 dollers a cap xP
Or are there stronger gas caps than OEM, or do i just sound stupid again?

Keep in mind i do what the cap sayss (hah) i unscrew slowly and tighten until snug slowly trying to avoide 3 clicks....im not wrenching on it like a gorilla.

What's the IAC valve, or where is it? I ordered a repair manual but its not in yet.

Thanks Billman I appreciate it.
