hi guys, i was wondering if u guys can help me out. i bought a used 4.77gears with the pumpkin last month and just installed it. when i test drove it i can feel the difference but also it make this weird noise from the rear. especially when im slowing down. did anyone else have this problem? does the fluid i put in the gears make a difference? i added NEO synthetic gear lube sae 75-w-90 h/d

maybe the backlash wasn't set properly... 75w90 synthetic sounds good to me.

 

Make sure your fluid was made for limited slip differentials.

If it was made for limited slip, then maybe you should try some friction modifier from Redline to maybe help rule out the limited slip itself.

 

Doesn't sound like the gears were calibrated properly to begin with. Is this Neo-syn meant for diffs?
