Default Is my block done?

Hi, so I have been tracking my car for the past 4 years, mostly used in the summer times, and have encountered this on my last track day. Cracks started developing around the oil pressure sensor. Here is the picture reference:

Yes there was an after market oil pressure gauge that was attached to it that was installed a while back. I've done some research and most "fixes" say to weld it shut then relocate to a sandwich plate. Also the local shops I went to say the same exact thing. Is this something people have done before, if so is this a good fix that will actually last?

Welding the block in the car might get some tiny pieces of slag down the hole into the oil passages which would be extraodinarily bad for your bearings. I think you could clean the oil out of the threads, coat a 1/8 bpt plug with JB Weld, and run it as far as you can into the hole without cracking it further. After that cured up, you could coat the entire thing with a layer of JB Weld. It seems kinda ghetto but back in my dirtbike days I saw massive holes in crankcases permanently plugged with JB Weld.

+1.

I would also try to force the jb into the cracks. Use like a putty knife spatula thing to try and push the stuff into the cracks. Then apply a coat to outside to further plug.

Obviously clean off as much oil and grease as possible first.

I bet done right this lasts the remaining life of the motor (a really long time).

Do it properly! Weld it & relocate the hole or if the weld allow just recut new threaded hole in a same place...

If tig welded, you wont get any slag I assure you.

jB weld on a pipe plug can actually be a great repair. The hole must be chemically spotless so the jb weld takes so clean it well.
