Finished the intake installation on Friday night. I've posted pictures at the link below if anyone is interested...

I'm posting here because I have a question and hoped one of you might know:

I made the recommended cuts in the under body plastic to allow for air flow to the filter. I thought it would get more air from the small brake ducts in front. It wasn't until the install that I realized the ducts don't actually exist, just a plastic grating in front of the stock body metal. Can I cut this duct out to allow more air? Or will this be TOO MUCH direct air flow? My biggest concern is dirtying up the filter too quickly, since I live in Phoenix and it's mostly dirt and dust out here.

Please let me know your thoughts.
