From my experience the aftermarket front grill has not affected my car's performance, and I didn't expect it to. This is based on running with stock S2000's every weekend before and after the grill install...the power of the SC has not diminished at all.

Wes, what I meant was the pulley on the back of the SC. What I had in mind was a slightly (2mm?) smaller pulley to make up for lost boost when using an intercooler. I figured that if they got the pulley from another company then I could just order a slightly smaller pulley from them to increase the boost a pound or so....

Maybe I am just on crack?

Running a smaller pulley will increase boost exponentially- you wont have a 1lb increase throughout the range. Without a safe 12.6 - 12.3 mix, you can detonate your motor in a heartbeat. Boost, high compression, smaller pulley w/o tuning is not good. Even with the knock sensor, the heat produced by the retarded spark can also result in a thermal runaway condition where it is impossible to keep the engine cool.

What you should do is messure the pressure drop in the system and compensate for that. Run 2 boost gauges - one pre-IC, close to the SC and one post TB. Find the pressure drop at 8,500 - and have Comptech adjust for that. You might only need to back down on the FP to bring the power back up.
