This is the other K&N intake and I like it a lot.

I haven't heard anybody talk about it yet but would be interested in hearing reviews about it.

If I was to get an intake this is the one I would go for.

Here is the pic:

I installed this unit last week on my 04. Good directions, easy install, not cutting or other mods necessary, and most important;
AWESOME SOUND In and Outside the vehicle.

Can one of you fellas take a pic of it installed in the car and take a measurement (side to side and front to back would be nice). I'm wondering if this can be adapted as a filter housing for my Vortech supercharger.

edit: Nevermind about the pic and measurements. I found all of this on the K&N site.
However, they don't tell about price. What's the ball park price for this kit?

There have been a number of discussion on the K&N FIPK, see the topic at https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=133&t=256141 for installation pictures and info on dyno comparisons.

K&N claims a 9.5hp increase, real world dyno results of a S2KI member showed closer to 5hp, not enough difference to be able to feel. It does sound nice though and it is easy to install and swap out with the OEM if you are autocrossing or tracking.

I too have an 04 with the K&N fipk2. Install was a breeze, no cutting, no nothing. The only difference is on the 04, our horns are bigger than 00-03, so the intake is close to the horn. I can post pics tomorrow if needed. Sound is incredible too.

It's $250 from cardomain.com.

I'm bummed.
Here in California we have to have CARB legal mods which somewhat limits our selection on intakes.

I was wondering if there was a post that covers all of the CARB registered intakes for us Cali's. I did a search on several areas, however only bits and pieces.

I know the responses I might get about CARB products..."why don't you just take it off and go back to stock when smogging"....however I really don't want to have to dis-assemble and reassemble products to go to the ill fated smog test.

^ Yup, carb legal, with a sticker included. No worries there. Totally legal even in socal.
I look forward to seeing your dyno as to what kind of difference it made in the 04.
