check connections at the starter solenoid itself?

Yeah I was thinkin of getting under the car this weekend to chk the starter connections...

Man that would suck a new starter on a 02 with 30k...

Wonder how much a starter is...

Around $200 apiece for Starter or Solenoid per Parts.com. For those who don't know, Parts.com sells factory parts at reduced prices, a useful site to say the least. I would try Hardtopguy or the Marketplace first if you do end up having to replace anything.

Thanks for the info, The tough part is that the car starts fine now, has not done it other that that one time. Makes it harder to diagnose...

if it's the starter you'll know soon enough they are intermittent little buggers and work perfectly....until they stop working.

Did you fiddle around with the floor mats? Is there anything on the floor of the car that could have been under the clutch pedal. It sounds to me like there was something preventing the clutch pedal from going down far enough to actuate the switch. Remove obstruction and it works fine.

Yeah I checked the floor mats, I will check again to make sure nothing is in the way...
