Just replaced the MAP this morning with a good one a local had and reset the ECU. Problem is still continuing, although I did have two days of good driving before yesterday afternoon (on the old map).

I had almost the exact same problem as you and I fixed it by cleaning the throttle body with brake parts cleaner. There was such much gunk in there it was casing the map to not get a good reading.

If you think about it, the whole 'map whack' thing is just a temp baby step to what the real problem is. Take off your intake and map sensor and use a light to look on the right side of the throttle body. You should see a little slit that leads to the top of the TB where the map sits. Mine was gunked the hell up and I suspect yours is too.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I bought some throttle body cleaner yesterday to do the IAC and other things. I'll give this a go tonight when I get home. I hope I fix this soon as it's getting annoying. Today I lost almost all power as I pulled out in the middle of a four lane highway and barely crept over to the median before it quit bogging and the juice kicked in. It's like a drive by wire where the wire is strung around the globe a few times and has partial telegraph service.

On a side note, I realized that after I took my cat out and found that my secondary 02 was damaged, the cat itself was in fact damaged. The element has broken off inside and is rattling up a storm. I have a local with an 06 that has a spare cat. Any issues with using an 06 cat? I know the b pipe is slightly different. Didn't know if the cat was or not.

Yes, I love my car

Been to California and back and all over the east coast and west coast as well as the mid states. Wouldn't want to drive anything else

Cleaned out throttle body and map port tonight (map out of course). It ran ok, but it usually does at night. The problem seems to get worse when it gets really hot outside but that's not necessarily the thing that triggers it as I've started it in the morning and it immediately started running rough. We'll see what happens tomorrow

No, I'll do that tonight probably. I wanted to see if I can isolate the problem so I'm only doing one thing at a time.
