Default NEED HELP

Hey, I recently purchased a MY04 shift boot and I need to put it in my car. Just wanted to know the process of taking the old one out and putting in the new one. I hear the transfer can be a hassle, just wanted the how to's on installing something like this.

thanks in advance

I dont know if you're swapping just the boot, or console assembly. The 04 console retrofit is in the FAQ

Thanks Reds2k, that helps a lot.

Slows2k: yea im just changing the boot, thanks for the help anyways.

p.s.
there are a few scratches on the trim surrounding the boot. since i am taking the trim off i thought, why not fix the problem. i have heard that if you use rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover this can help the situation. Has anyone done this before? What does it look like after you do it? any pics?

Not sure how that'll turn out but mine also got a bit of scratches here and there, I'm thinking about wrapping it up with a carbon fiber sheet so it matches my Mastergrade 7" lcd screen bracket. Either that or re-paint it to a fomula red color so it matches my exterior and interior, I got rick's red shift boot and red console cover so painting it red would be a great match.

It looks silver -- no I have not taken any pics ... my understanding is that it works with the '00 and '01, but that if it is done an '02 (or later ?) that you will end up with a plain black plastic finish.

You'll break a few of the little pins that the boot attaches to. It takes a while to get that inner piece out. Take your time.

BTW you still want the antenna?
