I know this isn't really a technical question but seeing if I could get some help. I keep my lighter in the cup holder of MY02 and it accidentally slipped through under the cup holder. How do you remove the center black plastic piece where the cupholder is located on? I messed around with it and got it a little loosened by the shift boot by pulling out some kind of hooks out or something. Is there any screws or is it just hooks that attach the balck plastic piece? So if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. thanks

its all clips...... just grab it unclip it and pull it up.....

 

Ya, it usually takes a little motivation to get them lose. You gotta yank on them. Don't be afraid to break them... Because you probably will.

 

^ lol its not that easy to break em just start from the back near the leather armrest and work upwards towards the shifter.......

 

Just pop the clips near the arm rest, but not too much force.

 

Thank God somebody asked this question. I dropped the access card to our parking lot at work today. Popped up the center consol and voila!
