NEED HELP!
Hello everyone, about a few weeks ago I tried to replace my stock springs with a used CT engineering coilover sleeves. So as installation instruction says I have to take the stock strut out, compress springs, remove top hat, take out dust cover and everything up to the bumpstop. I really don't know how to explain it but the coilover sleeve doesn't fit over the stock damper unless i take the thicker top part of the damper and i don't know how to take that off...here's a pic for better explanation.

can't fit it over this[ the metal part]

Supposed to look like this!

really? damn, need to do it again then. i checked the service manual and it doesn't say anything about it. thanks! ill probably try it out again in a week or so. does anyone one have any other way to take this out? techniques and such?
yeah I wouldnt buy anything like that even if its cheap. Its better to get the whole adjustable shock. I had these on a different car for a year or so. its very bumpy and it will kill the shocks. the only thing that is holding it in place are the tiny screws and it's under load from the weight of the car. Theres nothing underneath to support it from sliding down. It will eventually push it down slowly and damage the shocks. But good luck with it. I'm not bad mouthing or anything, I'm just letting a brother know whats to expect.
