Default Need help with all these inlets and outlets!

Hi all,

I need some guidance on what all these holes and tubes lead to. This is a stock 2002 f20c motor. I've attached 6 photos for reference. Here is the list that I need clarity on:

1- fuel feed to motor?
2- return line from motor to gas tank?
3- emissions?
4- emissions?
5- no idea. located on the back of the motor
6- coolant line to heater? located below #5
7- no idea. located below $5
8- i think this is the fuel return line? if you view the photo with the red box, that is the same line. the T fitting is located below the intake behind the alternator if that helps
9- emissions?
10- emissions?
11- emissions?

#5 is your air pump hose. Right below that is your water neck, goes to your radiator. A lot of your hoses can be eliminated if you delete your airpump and really simplifies the system.

Ok cool. This motor does not have to be emissions compliant as it is going in a pre 1975 car, so Im looking to simplify as much as possible. If you have other things I should "remove," let me know.

and just to clarify #6 and #7 both go to the radiator or just #6?

Thanks!

1. I am far less certain of than the others, but I am assuming it is fuel return simply because it is offset from where the actual pump is located to allow the gas to just drop back into the tank (only 06+ were returnless fuel systems)
2. I have no idea, nor 3 or 4
Yes 5 is your airpump, make sure you install a blockoff plate when you remove that bit though
6 and 7 should be your thermostat housing (could be wrong but it is cooling related)
8 is part of your evap system, can be deleted if not using a stock ecu but again make sure the lines to the manifold are plugged or used.
8 #2 should be the evap solenoid, just opens to allow those captured fumes into the intake out of your charcoal can.
10 & 11 are part of the emissions system/air pump as well, but 9 should be your crankcase vent, some people stick a filter on it. Some keep it connected to the intake to allow better extraction of crank gases.
The bigger hose under 9 is a coolant line going into/through your TB. Many people will bypass it, it is recommended to keep that coolant path even if you do circumvent the TB because it is part of the IACV. You can entirely remove that whole mess of metal tubes but you'll need to do some connecting of other lines.

I also see your MAP sensor isn't zip tied. It might still be valid for a recall from Honda, but basically all they did was a slightly different map sensor housing with a zip tie that holds the connector firmly into the MAP. I'd recommend if you don't want to check on the recall, zip tie the MAP to the connector to avoid hesitation issues which led to the recall in the first place

Thanks for the explanation on some of these. I hope more people chime in with the other numbers!

1- fuel feed to motor? Yes
The fuel return line is right next to it, the cut black plastic line.
2 Think this is tank vent, 3 and 4 might also be related, but basically EVAP stuff.
5- Air pump related, delete.
6- Coolant outlet that connects to radiator.
7- Coolant going to the cabin heater.
8- Purge solenoid stuff, it routes fuel vapors from charcoal canister to the intake manifold at two places. Can be problematic if you just delete it.
9- Follow the pipe to make sure but this looks like the valve cover vent, normally connects to intake arm. Kinda emissions thing but you should try to keep it for engine to be healthy.
10- Air pump related, delete.
11- Air pump related, delete.
