Default Need Help Diagnosing CEL

OK, about 6 weeks ago, my CEL came on and code P0141 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction, bank 1 sensor 2 came on. It was determined the rear O2 sensor was bad, and when it was pulled out, the actual sensor that sticks into the exhaust pipe was comepletely gone! There was nothing left.

My car is an 02 with 53,000 miles, and hondacare, so it was replaced under warranty. All was well until about 3 days ago, when the same code came up again. What could be chewing through an O2 sensor in 6 weeks? Im stumped, and the dealer has no clue either. I have a PRM intake that has been on the car since 15,000 miles, and I put an MG Racing exhaust on about 3 weeks ago.

The only thing I can think of is a bad CAT, but then I probably would have thrown 2 codes instead of one!

Any help is greatly appreciated both by me and my dealership!

Thanks,
John

The heater circuit is not the O/2 element. I has said before you need to check the power and ground for the heater circuit for P0141. If this problem keeps coming up you need to check for a bad connector or bad wiring.

Was there another code stored?

Also there is a connector on the left kick panel connector # C102 it is a blue 20 pin connector near the clutch pedal check that connector for corrosion. Also C101 16pin light blue connector this one is behind the the kick panel by you clutch pedal. There is one more left side of steering column C404 24pin light blue connector it is between a 14pin gry and 16pin light blue connector.

The primary and secondary O/2 use the same power and ground. I would clear the code and then start the car and to a wiggle test on these connectors when the check engine light comes on you'll know which connector the fix. Hope this helps
