Default Need Help - Shake from rear end

I need help on figuring this out. On acceleration, I feel the rear end of the car shake. It is super noticeable once into second gear and in a straight line. If I turn, I can't really notice it but when I am going straight, it is really, really, really noticeable. Does any tech-heads know what this might be? Driveshaft unbalanced? I have my thoughts but I would like to know what you guys think. It is a small shake but you can feel it right away. If I let off the throttle, I can no longer feel it (it is most likely still there, just not noticeable like on acceleration.)

Thanks in advance..

Sounds like you're problem could be a bad inner axle joint.I've seen this on a couple of other s2ks and that was the problem.Try and jack up the car and secure it with axle stands. Then see if you can get excessive movement (up,down, back and fourth ect).Usually if they are bad you will be able to get allot of slop in the axle.Good luck!

Twohoos had this problem at the track this past weekend. It was the CV joints (not uncommon problem), and the fix was to swap them left and right. If twohoos doesn't respond here you could PM him.

It was noticed by a friend of mine during autocross about a month ago. I didn't really feel it until recently. Now it is shaking to where anyone in the car can notice it. Hmm.. Hopefully twohoos will chime in here..

Here's the original inner CV joint thread:

I'll post a DIY thread sometime soon.

Ok guys.. I am going into Honda on Thursday to talk to the District Rep. If all goes well, it will be replaced *out of warranty* with this service bulletin.

https://www.s2ki.com/home/uploadfiles/A02-063.pdf

If it does in fact get replaced, I will post and let you guys know. This will make me very happy if it happens. I am sure it will. This honda has done bad things to the car and they owe me. Haha. Keep your fingers crossed. I only have 32k on my car so hopefully it won't be an issue even though I am out of warranty.

Thanks twohoos.. That is a super informative post. I will definitely be doing this if Honda doesn't take care of the issue.
