need a little

Default need a little

im in the process of changing my front and rear rotors and on my front drive side rotor is stuck. basically i took off the two small screws that hold the rotor in and took off the caliper along with caliper bracket. am i missing something else? the rotor wont just come off. any ideas? thanks

There are two threaded holes in the same radius as the holes you removed the Phillips screws from. Get a couple of M8x1.25 bolts and thread them into the holes. Alternate tightening them a couple of turns each; they'll push the rotor off of the hub quite nicely.

Maybe "a couple of turns" is too much. But a couple of twists on a ratchet, probably about 1/2 turn each, is appropriate. You just want to twist them in equally to push the rotor off the hub. It's much harder to explain than it is to do.

hmmm isnt there any other way? like banging on the rotor with a rubber hammar?

What could be easier: spend a few dimes on a couple of bolts and they come right off. You're welcome to flail away at the rotors, but the bolts do the job: no muss, no fuss.

if your replacing the rotors just slap it with a rubber hammer a couple times
and it will come off, thats what i do haha

That's pretty much what I did. Don't have a rubber hammer so I just used one of my 1/2" ratchets on the part by the lugs and it knocked all the dust out and freed the rotor.
