Default Need some help diagnosing a problem

Ok,, While out of town for a month,, My Son took my 2000 out,, It quit on him,, He,, "Says" He drove it home after a short stop,,, Now it spins over,, but acts like there is NO spark,, or NO fuel,, It has fuel,, I sprayed choke cleaner in the TB thinking maybe the fuel pump was out,, and the choke cleaner would at LEAST gimme SOME signs of life,, if so,, I'd start with the fuel pump, etc,, nothing,, I checked the spark on the #1 plug,, it has spark,, it DOES spin over freely with no bad sounds,, etc,, but still just spins, and spins,,, Need to know WHERE to start looking for the problem,,, PLEASE help! Maybe a sensor,, or SOMEthing like that,,,

Compression test it. If it doesnt even sound like its catching with starter fluid and it HAS spark...somethings not right/ timing or compression.

I hope Jr didn't mechanically over rev the engine and bend all the valves.

I'm thinking of pulling the valve cover to check the timing chain,, but 1,, he says he drove it home,, 2, IF the chain broke, I'd "think" there'd be SOME type of sound,, like the chain catching the teeth on the crank,, something,, I'm just trying to avoid pulling parts off to check if I don't need to,,, Thanks,,

A compression test is the easiest 1st check.. aqnd you don't have to take the valve cover off.
