well, i have had this for a while now, atleast a few weeks. it has probably been there since i bought the car, but just now noticing it. this is different though, from any other 'sound' thread i have read. okay, after starting the car(only happens after starting), once i start to accelerate, i get a click type sound from directly in front of me, probably from the engine bay or near the tranny. but this is the wierd part, once it has happened, it doesnt happen again. only way to reproduce it, is to turn the car off, start it, and drive forward. its a very faint sound, almost similiar to a relay. i'm just sooooo confused. now, i have been thinking, with the 06, there have been a lot of changes(dbw, etc.). is the sound i'm hearing, a one time occurence that happens during the cars first acceleration after startup? oh, and it also sounds similiar to the sound the a/c makes when it comes on, that click. but how can that related be to this. and yes, i have had the a/c off. any help guys, would be great. i'm sorry if i have left anything out, i'm at work, so trying to write this out fast.

how long have you had the car? has it done it the whole time you've had it? i think there is always some kind of "click" from the front on every start-up. Might be the air pump or some other small but important item for the car to run. does it do it right at start up or after it's been on for a few seconds/minutes?

 

take it in to Honda it should be covered by warranty!

 

thanks for the reply. well, it happens ONLY when i first move after starting the car, usually clicks when the car gets over 5mph. i am starting to think that it is some device that only comes on at that moment, but not sure. and oh yeah, cant be the air pump, cause the 06 doesnt have one.

 

yeah, i have thought about that. but i already know what they are going to say. they are first gonna say they cant duplicate it, and then says its fine, which i'm probably sure it is. i just want to know what it is. what changes to the 06 could make this sound?

 

Sounds like abs testing that happens each time the car is started. It happened with my 03 Accord.

 

I have a 06 crv and the vsa does make a noise when you first start off and only after you start again.Maybe try the vsa off and see if she'make noise.

 

sounds good, i'll definitley give that a try. i was figuring it was some system starting up. i know my ap1 didnt do it. hey, if there are any 06 owners that wouldnt mind jumping in there car and trying this out, i would really appreciate it. and to actually hear it, windows have to up.

I don't have an 06' but my air pump makes that same noise. Not a problem, if thats the case.
