I have an opportunity to switch out my engine. I have a few questions before doing it. Would a 2004 engine fit into 2002 model? What kind of modifications does it need. Is there a big difference between 2004 and 2002? I know there is more torgue n hp.

 

shouldn't be too hard to put the F22C into pre-04 S2000..
well, you need another ECU for sure and...
maybe you have to think about the different setting for the tranny...

 

The dealership is claiming that Honda moved the engine back 4 more inches in the AP2 vs. AP1.

you'll need the 04 engine, of course, the ECU, and the new heads up display. I think everything else is the same. the 04's tranny is different. same casing, but internal gears are different. shouldn't matter much to you other then you'll be shifting at 8k instead of 9, so your top speed in each gear will be lower.
