Default New Axels - fix the problem?

Hey all,

About to decide on something.. either I swap the inner CV's from left to right, or get brand new ones from Honda. The former being much more expensive, obviously.

My question, since I'm relatively new to the S2K world:

Has the inner CV pitting/rear vibration issue been resolved with the new S2Ks?
Basically, if I have Honda put in new axels, will this be a permanent or temporary fix?

Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

This issue will return even if you replace the entire axle and then at some point after ~30k miles on the new axles make a significant ride height adjustment.

The vibration is caused by shifting the wear spot on the inner CV bucket bearing race surface and then the spider trammeling between the two wear spots.

Cool, thanks for the reply. So just so I understand, Honda has never fixed this problem and even brand new S2K's are having this problem after ~30K.

That sucks.

^^ So long as you don't lower the car, you'd be alright. From Honda's perspective, there is nothing to fix...owners who lower the car are exceeding the design specs of the car.

do the swap its not that bad, or you can just but some reman axles. I baught mine from www.carstuff.com you can buy a set of axles from them for cheaper than the inner joints alone. its like 90 bucks per side after a core return. but i just kept mine for spare parts.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm dropped with H-techs, but that's less than an inch so I'm sure it's not creating or worsening the situation. I'm not goin for new axels if the problem is gonna come back again anyways..
