You can remove the oilpan and timing cover. Leave the head on.

What year is the new engine?

@Billman250 no year indicated in the documentation that came with the block. But the head is stamped as follows. F22C-0107326. Is there anywhere else I should be looking?

Looks like the 10002-pzx-a04 is for 06-09 model years. So I will need to swap the crank pulser from my F20C block onto this new short block.

Couldn't you leave the trigger wheel in, swap in a cam trigger wheel from a RSX, a valve cover and sensor from a 06+ S20000, and K pro the car?

I think that's the recipe, no?

I need to read up on that but unfortunately no more budget left for aftermarket EMS. It be like that sometimes.

Also CA smog issues. I do plan to swap back to AP1 ecu for smog requirements and run AP2 ecu primarily.
