new F22 short block

Thanks @Billman250 for the heads up to change the crank pulser. Would have installed the engine as is otherwise.

The pulser on the right is from the new short block.

You need to swap the cam trigger wheel as well, bolt is reverse threaded on that so don't strip it.

@Billman250 yes oil pan has been removed. The crank pulley bolt has been the easiest I have ever removed. So satisfying

thanks but I’m still using my AP1 head and cams so I won’t be needing to change them.

I really want to see thrust washer orientation but there is not way of peeking at it without complete disassembly of the shortblock.

Ah no worries then, you can usually see the thrust washers with a torch and the crank in the right spot just for checking.

It's a little tricky but certainly enough to give them a quick visual check anyway for being installed the right way around and not chewed.

@BuggyofMildDiscomfort thanks for the pointers, much appreciated! I can see them now just having trouble determining whether they are the right way around.

I know grooves face towards crank. Am I looking for the slight slope on either end of the thrustwasher face?

I have some old ACL thrustwasher from the broken engine.
