Default New Throttle Body

I installed a new throttle body (70mm) over the weekend and ported the intake manifold to suit. The car turned over fine and no warning lights etc. However when I let it sit the car seemed to 'search' for idle i.e. it was fluctuating between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Once it had warmed up to around 800 (as you would expect) but then it suddenly seemed to struggle culminating in it cutting out/stalling. This was after the car had ran for a few minutes.

Ultimately the car had to be bump started but once it was running was fine again. No issues with the car once running throttle response is fine throughout the range.

The car is going in for a reflash/remap on Thursday so the tuner should be able to sort this out as I think it is probably the AFR being mixed up and the ECU has to 'learn' new settings. In the short term any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the TPS signal? you might need to calibrate it.

Once the car is running the throttle seems fine, behaving like OEM just a little more responsive.

With regards to calibrating how do I do this?

If you connect some type of OBD2 reader or the flashpro you can check the TPS value when fully closed, it should be close to 0%.
You should ofc also check that the upper value isn't way off.
If it wasn't just a small leak and it's working fine now I guess it could just have been that ECU needed to relearn the fuel tables.

+1 TPS value at idle may not be the same as before

0 is no good. 7% at idle is where you want to be.

Really you should just check the entire sensor range to make sure its OK. Closed and WOT

Thanks guys. Been running a few days now and no further issues - in for a tune in a few days anyhow so will get it 'set up' properly then.

You should calibrate the TPS regardless. I had to do the same for my Skunk 2 70mm.
