XERD good job clarifying everything for everyone. Everybody let's forget about any bashing and do what we are known for. Waiting for hard numbers and unbiased first hand experiences.

I hope you can find a donor s2k because Ijust spent close to 4k on rims, body kit, suspension, on my car, and if your kit was out I would have bought that instead. Good luck and keep us updated so we dont forget.

Art, do you think it's prudent to start with an '03?

First of all, I'm not sure you know, but the high revving disposition of this car dictates that it be properly broken in (for the first 600 miles it's best to vary the rpms through daily driving and not go beyond 6K), and it's common knowledge that the combination of ceramic in the cylinder liners and soft rings means this car is not fully broken in until upwards of 10,000 miles or better. I'm not convinced that starting with a "green" car is such a good idea especially since you'll be doing a lot of testing and tuning with a turbo.

Also, be very careful about presenting your dyno plots, the stock S2K should produce roughly 194-205 RWHP and could actually gain RWHP over your testing phase and construe the #'s slightly. In fact, many S2K owners will tell you that as the car ages it makes more power, I truly think you'd be better off finding a 10-20K '01, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

I was one of the first people to really push the turbo issue way-back-when, and I'm still pushing it because I'm unhappy with the non plug-and-play aspects of the current offerings.

Good luck to you, and please...make it so.

Andrew

Andrew,

We are aware of all these issues, we will be putting some miles on the engine in order to break it in a little before the final tuning and installation. After the turbo kit is done we already have lined up a car with 30,000 miles on it or so for the dyno testing. Everything is under control and we will have dyno sheets on both cars and will present all the info on the cars.

Thanx, Art

can you tell us anything about the size of turbo you are selecting?
Is it something that will allow for an upgrade path? I would like a turbo that could produce 20psi even if it is only going to produce 8psi in the configuration you will be selling. I hope that can fit into your cost constraints....good luck!

I want a turbo kit that will spool for 2000 rpm, but be able to boost up to 35 psi (with oversized valves and ported head) and cost less than $2500. Can you guys do that?
