Default Newbie with a leak!

Hi guys,

Firstly sorry this is my first post but only had the S a few weeks and was waiting to get some good pics before saying hello but i need some advice!

Story is I found water in the boot, searched through the forum and found several different things but its still leaking! So i ripped everything out the back and have found the root of the problem, shown in the pictures below. The water is leaking in where the red arrow is.

The second picture shows a gap between the two metal bars holding the roof on, should the gap be there? I tried to move the two bars closer but wouldn't move.

I can't find anything like this on the forum, is it ok to remove the metal bar and try refitting this part of the roof?

Many thanks in advance

Rob

if you remove the metal brackets the one u stated that has a gap between (normal gap BTW) it will allow you to remove the rubber water guide along with the soft top.

However that rubber water guide is held to the soft top with rivets that need to be drilled out if you decide to remove it. Then youd need to fasten it again with new rivets during the reinstall.

GL finding the leak or the cause of it
