Default Ngk BKR7E

I've opted to go with these plugs, just not sure of the exact part number. They don't cross reference with our cars and there are tons of different types under the BKR7E type.

Can anyone provide me with the correct part number?

-I know they're not oem
-I'm n/a
-I know I'll have to change them out frequently. Once a year for me.
-I'm running them because I'm going through a lot of oil, 1qt every 5-700mi, Black smoke at initial wot. Comp #'s are solid and leak down never made it above 7% on all cylinders. Basically I don't want to buy a long-life plug to only foul it out with soot.

I plan on running .040 gap

Found it.
Part #5791
NGK BKR7E-11
They come at .044 but are ok to re-gap.

I'd figure out your oil consumption and black smoke issues ASAP.

it's been doing it since i got the car almost 3 years ago. like i said, the comp test and leakdowns were fine..did that as soon as i got the car. i'm assuming that it's the normal ap1 pcv blow-by problem, but i agree... it's a bit excessive. i'm just not prepared to start tearing down my motor to find where it's going, especially when she's running plenty strong.
i've replaced the pcv, the only thing i haven't tried is venting the vc to open air... maybe give that a shot soon.

my wild guess is worn valve guide/s.

It can still possibly be the oil control rings or valve guide seals. Yes ap1 does burn oil but a quart in 500-700 miles is a little much. My engine has 170k on it and it burns half a quart in 3500 miles. Granted I reringed it and did valve guide seals at 100k.

Try different oil or viscosity. With my C6 I was going through a Qt every 1500 miles. I switched from stock oil to 0w-40 Euro spec Mobil 1. Then I would consume about 1qt every 3k.

I wonder if an oil catch can system would be helpful?

I tried switching from castrol edge 10w30 to amsoil sig 10w30... No difference.

Probably will be going to 0w30 soon.

Thought about the catch can, but will probably try the Pcv to open air trick first.
