Default NGK BKR7E Spark Plugs

I'm kind of a noob when it comes to figuring this stuff out. I have just over 60k on replaced OEM plugs that were done at the dealership. I think it's time for some new ones. My dad just bought some for his Audi S4 and they are NGK BKR7E's, he bought one box too many. He has 4 left over. Would it be safe to run these in my car? Please forgive my ignorance.

there's a complete list of car application on NGK's site

you can look that up or you can look up the P/N in handaaccesories.com

remember the oem plug is specially made for our car, don't fall for those universal fits all plugs because it will not work.

the other two plugs that i can think of is DENSO and NGK IR plugs, i have no idea what's their P/N but you can search it on google.

Are you boosted? That's a recessed plug that you would want to run if you were having intense blowout issues. That plug is actually what I have in my VR4 with high compression at the moment as I thought it would help with some spark issues I was having. I'm going to be pulling them out and going back to a more normal plug.

So for your S, definitely not.

For both NA & FI S2000s, the below are the relevant plugs from NGK & Denso. These are all pulled from JDM spec sheets.

Platinum Pregapped 1.1 | PFR7G-11S (OEM Honda Recommended)
Iridium Pregapped 1.1 | BKR7EIX-11 (NGK Upgrade Recommended)

Denso Iridium NA | IK20
Denso Iridium NA High Tune | IK22
Denso Iridium FI | IK24

Both plugs are NGK marketed as Iridium plugs. One is more of an OEM long life replacement plug, the other is designed for maximum performance.

The NGK Iridium IX series feature a tapered ground electrode, the other plug has the full size ground electrode with a platinum disc on the ground electrode. The 7746 plug is designed for longer use somewhat similar to the stock plug's lifespan. The IX plugs are designed for maximum performance with a shorter lifespan. I prefer to have a plug with a shorter lifespan, changing them out once every 2 years is my preferred maintenance schedule, though they will last longer than that. My stock plugs at 55k miles were totally worn out, the thought of keeping them until 100,000+ miles is sick, not in my books thank you. The car runs great on the IX Iridium plugs.

I think the IX plug may have a slightly thinner center electrode judging by the descriptions of the two plugs, which is an ultra-fine wire center. The IX plug is listed as having an Iridium center electrode, the 7746 is listed as having an Iridium tip, not sure about the difference there. Sometimes they play around with the resistance of the center electrode, I know the IX series has pretty low resistance and they are designed to fire easier.

Here is the link for the IX NGK Iridium plug. hth.
