Default No SRS light

Recently purchased S2000. Needs brake and light inspection Previous owner said it failed due to an airbag light. I cant seem to see any light. Should it illuminate when the car is started then go out like all the others? Could the bulb have burned out? Any help is appreciated.

The SRS light should come on when the key is 1st turned to on, it will go out of no faults are detected. Chances are the bulb was removed instead of fixing the problem. It's all to common on the used car market.

Thanks for the advice. After close inspection, I discovered the bulb assembly to be there with NO bulb in it! Idoits! I attempted to reset the srs but its still on. What next? Should I go have codes pulled in order to pinpoint the problem or does someone have any advice? Thanks again Slows2k

You need the stored SRS code before you can go any further.

S_3000,
Once you get the light working, you can put a jumper across the plug under the passenger dash and read the SRS DTC code on startup and see what's wrong.

Do you have a repair manual?

I'm working a similar problem on my car. Turns out the SRS unit is bad and the stealership wants $1000 to fix it. I just bought a new SRS ecu today out of a wreck for $100. My guess is that's what's wrong with yours, but you may have to take it in the dealer to get it checked out first. The airbags are about 5-600 each. good luck,

JASON
