At first it started off as a very very faint ticking noise. Well after 6 months and 2 times back to honda its a full blown on tick!! I can hear it from inside the car! Its very loud if im next to someone at a stoplight. Car runs rich as hell also. Anyone help me out? Someone post up videos of an Ap1 at idle (from under the hood) so I can hear what one is suppose to sound like
honda said that is supposed to be how they sound and run like with a Test pipe on there.

EDIT: Compression is beautiful on all 4. Noise sounds like intake mani/Valve cover area. My car is only under warranty for another 8k miles. TCT is new also.

Did you check your TCT? Either it's the TCT or you just need a valve adjustment.

 

already got both! lol new TCT in 5k miles ago, and valves done around 8k ago... Im thinkin its an injector gone bad and its just dumpin fuel in. Cuz it misses sometimes at low rpms , and it backfires when cold (really bad) and smokes at WOT. but according to the idiots at honda . "Its 100% fine"

 

another stupid question - oil level fine?

I worry sometimes about my engine just becuase it is typically noisier than most engines. It makes it even harder when there might be an actual problem becuase everyone response is "oh, thats just how it is".

Have you demonstrated what you described to the Honda Techs?....how do you know its running rich? Have you had them start up an S2000 there to compare (so they believe you)?

 

nope there was none on the lot. The guy who worked on it (older guy) said that his does the same thing. but it didnt make a noise when i bought it

perfect vid dude. Yeah mine is a lil bit more noisy. your injectors are way more quiet. Thats where I think the noise is commin from! Ill see if i can get ahold of a camera and post it up tonight or tomorrow!
