Sounds a lot like my problem, I've come to the conclusion that it's just the rear differential. This is my first rear wheel drive as well as first sports car so I wasn't used to hearing something like it.

Did it to my car just because it's suppose to be done. My buddy had noise from the back of his car and he did it and it's much better now.

Thanks for the reply, re-torqued the axle nuts almost got to 60 deg increase, using 1/2 inch with added pipe. Will try to find 3/4 inch like billman mentioned. I think you are right about the differential fluid. Before I changed mine, the noise was loud and random at various speeds, but now is isolated to 42-43 mph regardless of gear.
