Noob Brake pad checking question
Hi guys, I'm new on this forum, I'm a noob working on my car. I've learned how to change all the mtl, diff, oil fluid now. (THX TO THE FORUM!!!) I'd like to know how to do brake job now.
My question is if I'm just taking out the brake pad to check the depth and put it back, do I still need to compress the piston with a c-clamp? I'm guessing no?? Is this the same for the rear brake piston? thx for your help !!!!!!

IC, thx for the quick reply, I've got another question. I can see the engine is vibrating significantly when I'm pulling the throttle cable, is this normal or do I need a new motor mount?
Only 20k miles on the car, idk. The shifter also vibrates when driven in high speed and during downshifting.

It is pretty normal for the shifter to vibrate. As fir the engine mounts, hard to say. They are fluid filled, so one way to check is to jack up the car and take a look at them, see if they are torn or if there are traces of fluid on them.
