hey guys,
I just purchased myself a ap1 with about 53k for my birthday, before I brought the car home the dealer installed a brand new clutch and master/slace cyl. I love everything about the car but 3rd gear is a bit notchy...it clunks like a little and sometimes I feel a grind for a split second, my question is is this normal?

 

Only clunk I have ever gotten is when I quickly put the car in gear after sitting at a light with the clutch out. This is common and does not happen if I press the clutch and wait 2-3 seconds before shifting in gear. As for 3rd, I get just a "scratch" as it falls into gear, this gets better after things have warmed up. 14,000 miles no problems.

 

Try changing the fluid, get the GM syncro. stuff It works wonders 2QT's needed to do the job.

 

i hope your synchros arent shot like mine, mine started with a notchy downshfit and grind to 1st....now it grinds all the time and i have a bil for about 1500 to get my shit fixed
