Default Notchy first & second gear

So here are the situations,

First problem is the first gear, lets say at a complete stop i want the car to move, i put into first, and it is very notchy, i can feel a two steps engage, it is like you cant shift into first directly, you need to give it a bit time.

Then the problem for second gear is only when downshifting, when downshifting into second, it is alot more notchy than downshift into 3 4 or 5?

all the fluids(tranny, diff, clutch) are fresh, the car has 17k miles, all these problems are there since i got the car, and it is not notchy when 1>2 or 2>3.

Just wanna know did anyone experienced anything similar on their S??

Very likely rusted input spline on transmission.

you would need to remove the transmission to clean the spline. At that point i would do a clutch. how many miles?

Mine has similar tendencies. Try changing the tranny fluid, use a synthetic oik see if that helps. These trannys can be notchy at times. Seems to be pretty normal.
