notchy transmission?

so its not normal????? and when im stopped and i shift it into first i can feel it in the whole car that im shifting like in my feet and seat

Someone didn't read the manual. I guess you don't know about the break in period, huh?

Your complaint about the shifter sounds normal. Many in the automotive press say the S is one of (if not THE) best shifters in the world. You may just not be use to the precision yet.

I have the same thing when going into first, and i have driven a few other S2000 that do it too, so its normal. As for break in being a bunch of BS, i believe the clutch should be broken in, and when thats done, break in the tires...

Breaking it in IS a bitch, but you shouldn't redline on a brand new motor, IMHO.

ive only redlined it once in one gear i usuall shift at 4-6k rpm i heard the break in ends at 600 miles or 1000 miles?

Regarding your transmission question - my '06 had that notchy feel and a slight occasional grind going from 1st into 2nd when it was new, and when the engine and transmission was cold. Now that I have 2500 miles on it, it has smoothened out considerably. I had the same issues with my previous car, an '04 WRX, so I'm figuring there's some amount of transmission break-in going on.
