1qt from L to H must be standard for all makers (at least all Japanese) because all my cars (according to their manuals) are like this.

I have an AP2 and after changing oil and filter and refilling with 5.1qts, the dipstick reads close to H. For consistency, I always check the oil level using the dipstick while the car is in my garage. One interesting thing I noticed is that the reading on the passenger side of the dipstick is always one full "X" higher than the driver side i.e. with 5.1qts of new oil, the passenger side would read up to the 5th "X" (closest to H) and and driver side would be at the 4th "X". I'm assuming the dipstick must not be square to the oil level and is the reason for the difference. I have noticed this on my Toyota Sequoia, as well.

My AP2 has 53K miles and I have not detected any oil consumption. I have 1500 miles on my last oil change.

Check it yourself, place a piece of cardboard under your car next time and if you see oil on the cardboard the next morning then you have a leak. Its common for some S2Ks to burn oil. Some will and some wont.
