Default O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction

OK, so I can't find my service manual, I think someone ripped it off. So, can anyone tell me what it means? It's a code p0141, O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1).

I'd like to try to fix it myself. Maybe someone can email me the page from the service manual? Or just tell me what's up?

Thanks all!

Likely an the O2 sensor nearest the manifold needs replacing.Bank 1 would involve the one that #1 cylinder exhausts to.Not sure which side under car it's on.I think passenger side but don't quote me on that. You can visually trace it easy enough from #1 cylinder which is the front most cylinder.

yeah its on the passenger side of the car. more toward the engine. looks to be a pain to get to. i have already done my bank 2 02 sensor. that was easy. i would let the car run for a few min so the pipe is warm but not hot to touch. i found it easier to unscrew it.

only real way to get it off is with a large 22mm box end wrench, located on the top of the exit pipe on the header. Check to see that the connector is tight just over the transmission area where it connects, I had one that came loose once, as soon as I pushed the connector tight it was fine. If the connector isn't loose then the 02 sensor is likely dead.

Cool. At least it sounds like an easy fix. The heater element that has failed is part of the sensor itself I assume. Went autocrossing today and all seemed fine. I'll change it on my day off.

Do I gotta worry about the quality or brand of the O2 sensor at all?

Bank 1 sensor 1 is in the header.

Bank 1 sensor 2 is in the cat.

22mm or 7/8 open end wrench will usually always take it right out.
