OBD-2 scanning software recommendations?
I'm looking for some recommendations on what OBD-2 software and cable to use with an S2000. I'd like to get one that will allow me to pull/reset CEL error codes and do diagnostics on my S2000. I'm not sure what software and cable to get though. There seems to be a few different types of cables, so I don't know which one is compatible with the S2000. Also, what software should I use? I have a notebook PC with USB and a serial port (compaq armada e500, P2, 128M ram, win98).
I've seen a couple of OBD-2 cable and software sites such as:
http://www.obddiagnostics.com/
http://www.autotap.com/
http://www.obd-2.com/
so does anyone have any recommendations on what software to use, and what cable I need to connect to the S2000? thanks

I know the OBD-2.com product will work on Win98 and Win3.1, which makes it a good candidate for use with an old laptop that's no longer useable for much of anything else. And the software is small, just over a MB, compared to the 14 MB download for another product I looked at. But it's serial port only, so if you have only USB you'll need an adapter.
I've had mine for a week or so but haven't used it except to plug it in, verify a DTC, then reset it, which was easy enough to do. It looks like it does long-term logging of just about anything monitored by the ECM and your only storage limit is hard drive space.
I was hoping to use it with my Panasonic CF-32 (half the size of a regular laptop) but it's been very flaky lately - sometimes won't boot and sometimes locks up (really locks up - CTRL-ALT-DEL won't work). So I'll probably be looking for a used cheesy laptop to go with the OBD-2.

Piggy back ride....
Has anybody successfully used such a connector (to a laptop or something) that can retrieve OBD information through a CAN port? (Found on modern types of Volvo etc.)
Compliant to "ISO DIS 15765-4 "Road Vehicles - Diagnostics on Controller Area Network (CAN) - Part 4: Requirements for emission-related systems" to be precise..??
