Default OCTANE Booster

do you guys recommend using an octane booster every fill up? wont the higher octane help our cars not detonating and run smoother? which octane booster is the best out there? i have seen some for like 1.99-2.99 which isnt too bad to put one in each fill up as long as it helps the car.

No, unless you're Turbo...and then you really want to run a real high octane gas not just a booster.

If your mostly stock thern there is really no need to go higher than what is reccomended in the owners manual. 91-92 is the minimum required....Octaine boosters and higher octaine than 92 will not give you any performance/drivability benifit, just a lighter wallet.

Peace

The gas you buy at the pump already has "octane booster" in it. The stuff you buy at the store is just a concentrated version.

Do a search- you'll find plenty of info on the topic.

Octane boosters and fuel system cleaners in general foul O2 sensors and cat converters. I'd recommend against using any of these more than once per oil change, and I'd go so far as to say that fuel system cleaners in general don't do squat. For the most part, you don't have to worry about any fuel system problems for over 100k miles, and no use of cleaners meantime will do anything to delay that (perhaps just ruin things). I have heard good things about Regane cleaning off carbon deposits, though I don't think they actually do anything for the fuel system itself.
