The exhaust seats look like unmachined blanks so far.

They do, I was just curious if he ordered machined blanks or if his machinist made them.

I wish I could tell you what the final bill is, but they're still not finished with it yet. Initial quote was just a bit over $500 for new seats, valve job, assembly, etc.

From what he told me a couple weeks ago, they machined out the OEM seats and pressed these in. They have a bunch of different sizes of valve seats, so they must have chose whatever is closest. I can ask him for a part number or specs on those seats if needed.

Well, here's real world proof that the F22 exhaust valve seats are indeed removable and replaceable. They welded one of the old valves to each exhaust seat and removed them all. I got the cylinder head back Friday afternoon, all rebuilt with Ferrea components, 8 new exhaust valve seats, and they did have to take off 0.003" to make the surface of the head completely flat. He showed me pics of each 0.001" they had to do, and you could visibly see it wasn't flat. Total bill from the machine work/rebuild/assembly was $515. Now I'm still waiting on the powdercoater to finish my valve cover and intake manifold before it will be back up and running.

Valve cover powder coat? Did they media blast it? If so, don't use it. Its a wall decoration now. Use it and your motor will be toast.

Also, Ferrea? Why not oem?

I removed the old valve cover paint using a chemical paint stripper, NO media blasting at all. I chose all Ferrea stuff because the car is getting turbo'd/flex fuel/etc and I figured since it was off, just do it once and be done with it. Even if the bottom end turns out to be no good, the head "should" be good. If the block needs a rebuild then it would most likely get sleeved and at that point, the motor should handle whatever power I could ever throw at it.

can you post your compression and/or leakdown numbers after you assemble the head?

I will do both after I get the car up and running again. I'm very curious.
