OEM seat tracks... that's right, OEM
Wife e-mailed from the office and said the seat is stuck. I figured she left something jammed under there but once home, nope. The lever does feel rather light in action compared to the passenger side, I intend to pull the seat out over the weekend. I expect that whatever cross-connects the actuator for the left and right rails is adrift or, more likely, broken. Uncommon problem? I looked all over the internet and plenty of seat tracks are available -- all aftermarket for lowering the seats and she's only 5' 2" so that's a non-starter; she needs stock height if not higher.
Other than dealer or junkyard, are there available anywhere? I'd guess there are 100's sitting in member's garages after swapping out for aftermarket ones.

Well they are bolts to the OEM seats and it is all one piece that holds the seat bottom and back together. This thread has good pics of what I am talking about.

I'd bet you could still find a replacement on ebay or something. I still have mine from putting on my BYS rail but want to keep them in case I put them back to stock.
I wonder if the cable broke or came off somehow? They could just be dirty or something.

Which has a good pic of the cross-track cable I expected should be down there; I might get lucky on repairing it. I'd imagine the OEM part at a dealer would be $$$$$$$
As we all know, the leading edge of the door opening is rather far back; she slides the seat back all the way every time she gets out of the car (especially if driving in heels) so the seat track gets a workout. Reminds me of 40 years ago when a couple in our local club autocrossed a Lotus Europa and the husband and wife had about a 12"-14" height difference. Slid the seat back and forth constantly between runs, the rest of the car holding up well but they wore out the seat tracks...

Cable likely broke. Wonder if dealer sells it separately. Wondering if maybe a bicycle shop could make a new one for you. Reuse the old cable sheath, replace inner cable with like a brake or shifter cable. Cut one end to needed length, and add a new end on that side...

Will check for that too - thanks!

Cable is indeed broken on the LH end. What genius designed the seat to be held in by 4 bolts, 12mm in the front and 14mm in the back? Bad enough that, in the full-forward position, no way to get a socket on the front bolts, used an open-end wrench, tedious in the extreme.
Cable is available separately from the dealer, $32+, closest one is Iowa so while my wife can barely drive the car in this condition, I cannot at all for the next 3-4 business days.
Reconnected the electrical clips, seat currently held in by two bolts finger tight, car starts but the door-ajar light stays on?

Fixed! The part arrived Friday and I tackled the job early this morning because it's supposed to hit 97F this afternoon (and I brought the seat into the house just to be in air-conditioning). The cable, in its most-relaxed position, has very little tension on it, so it was not the big fight to install that I anticipated. My wife is happy now.
