passenger seat belt rattle fix, put black felt tape on seat belt part that hits the door, tape is barely noticeable. noise gone!
seat belt squeak put some felt on the seat just under where the seat belt rubs where it goes through the plastic guide thing bolted to the seat. noise gone!
front hardtop latch rattle put spongy foam tape in between the latch and where it bolts down. on the same area as the screws for the latches but more toward the release button area. if you grab the latch, you can move it up and down slightly and it can make a noise when it does this over bumps, the foam cushions this. noise gone!
also put brake bleeder screw rubber caps over the nipple looking things on the front latches, there the nipples touch the strikers. and some felt tape where the hooks grab the stickers. on the striker side. removed 2 latch shims also before all this. all in all it helped a lot with the hardtop rattling over rough roads. where it sounded like the hardtop was loose. now it's solid.
the drivers side hardtop wind noise problem. after adjusting the hardtop as perfect as it is going to get. i removed the rubber trim on the hardtop for the window seal and adjusted the track all the way out. noise is way less. almost gone. also had some wind noise at both front latches. something to do with where the seals met up. looked like wasn't sealing as tight as it should. put small rubber tubing in between the outer rubber windshield molding (where the hardtop contacts) and the molding track, right at each top corner outside each latch. pushes up the rubber just a little creating a tighter seal. wind noise almost completely gone.

Awhile ago, I started notice clicking in my driver side rear brake. Figuring it was probably due to bad pads since I saw some chipping on the corners of the visible pads on the corner, I decided to replace them and had the rotors turned as well.
After the replacement, things were fine for a few months until our last heavy rain about a week ago. The clicking returned. I hosed down the area pretty well with water and the noise disappeared but I suspect the notice will return. I also checked whether the caliper was nice and tight on the assembly and it was okay as well. The pads are nice and greased as well touching the caliper.
My only other idea that I'm thinking of is that I need to bleed the line... although there are no visual leaks that I can detect for air to get in.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Usually when the car initially starts to roll forward or backwards slowly, I get a clicking sound from the left rear. Not a repetitive click just a single "CLICK!". Its wierd I have never had this problem before. The car sits on jacks all 8 months of winter, and only has 32K miles on it.
Regarding Rossco's comment about front hardtop latch rattle:
It appears that this rattle, caused by the latch itself moving up and down, is different than the rattle fixed by stuffing foam between the latch and the side casing. I will try Rossco's fix this weekend.

I wonder if SIIK2NR's rattle fix (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=372605&st=0) which has worked for several people means the latches on a 2006 or older s2000 are different than the 2008 CR. The latch base on my CR appears solid. Does anyone know if the latches are different?

i work at a honda dealer and i thought my hardtop was noisey, but after riding in a few other s2000's with the hardtop, i have yet to find one as quiet as mine. also if your front latches have all the shims installed, they might not pull the hardtop down as tightly as it should.
i have tried just about everything i could think of. hope this will help
Hey when I bought my S I noticed a rattle noise only sometimes when I'm in lower gears maybe bc I can't hear it when I'm in higher gears my friend said maybe something with the clutch, something is lose. its like something metal hitting the ground s few times like it's being dragged and it only hapens every so often and more if I'm not careing how I shift via soft or pushing it, it's kinda annoying wonder if anyone knows anything about this I've looked under the car it's not anything dragging I've looked many times.
Thanks Craig
Thanks Craig
If I'm driving with the top up (which is very rare) there's a VERY ANNOYING clicking noise coming from above my head and perhaps slightly behind. It seems to be friction from the top material being stretched over the frame. As the frame naturally flexes the friction of the material pushing on it is overcome and CLICK CLICK... CLICK. Does anyone have a fix for this? If I put my hand on top of the frame bar overhead to effectively pull the material away from it, the click happens much less. I thought of padding the bar but I don't want to put too much stress on the top material.
i got a CEL the other day ran it was the secondary O2 got a replacement for 60 bucks from autozone. pulled the old one out saw that the peice was broken off.... i then took the whole cat out and shaked the peices out.... my car always rattled with ac on now i relized that the inside of my cat runs loose and knocked the tip of the 02 off.... i then ordered a berks test pipe and fixed the rattle completly.
I am the proud owner of a trouble-plagued 2005 S2000 which I bought brand new as an end-year bargain in December, 2005. I have had tires blow out, scratches to the exterior, and a broken part on the hood release. I put on an aftermarket auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and thermometer, and it took about eight trips to the glass shop and the aftermarket installation shop to get it right. The entire car was rewired in about five trips to the dealer before it was found that each of the first TWO multi-disk trunk-mounted CD changers was defective. The top got a slit, and after the top was replaced (and the rear bumper repainted from where they scratched it), the TSB came out to smooth the parts, so the top was almost completely removed a second time. Then there are the rattles......
I have had the right convertible top latch replaced ($270) which got rid of a rattle. There was a rattle in the new rearview mirror which (as mentioned elsewhere on here) sounded like it was coming from the dash, but wasn't. That has been fixed. There's still a noise coming from somewhere in the passenger seat that sounds a bit like castinets. I haven't told the dealer about that one yet. And then there's the rattle in the gear shifter....
The gear shifter makes a noise when in gear which sounds as if rain is falling on the convertible top (but it's coming from the shifter area). The dealer replaced the entire transmission (and some clutch parts while there) for about $1900 after warranty expired (Honda nevertheless paid the other 60% or so) and that seemed to fix it temporarily, then it came back. Dealer then took apart the shifter again, and found that the end had broken off some kind of retainer ring, and replaced it (at no charge). After this, the noise was briefly all gone but has started to come back again. It's not loud yet, and happens when I am in 5th gear. In the past, it started in 5th gear and then spread to all other gears. I can't find a description of this exact problem elsewhere, and would like to draw on the collective wisdom on this site for further suggestions.
