Oil Amsoil weight question

Mmmmm not sure what all the extra numbers and letters mean but i always use a 10w-30 weight and i liked the numbers RR posted from Amsoils UOA so i figured id get some of it but i cant decypher what one of those i need

This was from the (ASE) - and again i have no clue to what these numbers mean only the small bit i read from your post and a UOA posted by RR some time ago showed Amsoil to have really good numbers as compared with its comparisons, i currently use Mobil1 but just wanted to a step better.

Sorry for the late reply, but I no longer have a computer at home. So, I'm only online when I'm at work. Yes--like slalom44 mentioned--you would want a higher TBN. I have never seen a TBN above 12.8 and that is why I said Amsoil's 10w30 (ATM) of 12.2 is a good number. Base on the physical properties that you have provided, I would say that 8.4 TBN is a bit weak for a new oil. HT/HS of 3.25 centipoise is pretty good. As a comparison, GC (German Castrol, 0w30) HT/HS is 3.5 cp, which means that it is 0.25 centipoise thicker than Amsoil 10w30 (ASE) when the oil is at 150
