I know oil cap...anyways I was wondering if I could use this cap that is used on a Vette and some other cars.......I dig the idea that it is exactly the type of oil I use.....so do domestic oil caps fit on Japanese cars?

 

I would suggest you examine the two side by side to be sure. Make sure the threads are the same pitch and depth and kind (metric). Make sure there is a similar kind of sealing ring built in to prevent leaks. If it looks close, then try it and see if it takes about as much effort to screw it in and to remove it. Then try it at idle and rev the engine a bit more while under the hood and see if you can detect any pressure leaking out (we have enough under valve cover pressure that this will be immediately obvious). Then, for your own peace of mind, continue to check it for removal strength after each time you drive it longer and longer distances. This is the only way you will tell for sure. Unless someone else here has actually used one of these for a while, I don't think anyone can just come out and tell you "yes".

before someone says this....I guess I could just find the sticker that is put on the cap in question and slap it on my OEM cap
