When draining it, the car should be either level or tilted slightly so the drain hole is down. When you check the level when you're adding the oil, the car should be level.

I usually do the following when changing my oil every month.

1. Jack the car on the passenger side
2. Slide underneath and remove the drain plug
3. While it's draining, lower the car again so that its level.
4. Wait
5. Lather
6. Rinse
5. Repeat as necessary!

usually the filter will say something like 7/8 trun after gasket touches engine, kinda like the spark plugs.
Maybe the honda filters give the torque?

The repair manual specifies 7/8 of a turn after the rubber seal touches or 16 lb-ft. The Honda replacement filters come with numbers around the circumference, 1 through 8, which allow you to count them off to get the 7/8 of a turn. Just did mine today and used the 7/8 turn method.
