Oil filter?
http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductDetail....tType=1&PTSet=A
anyone know for sure?
from what I can see of the oil seal, it looks exactly like the OEM PCX filter.

Eh, just planning on when they stop selling OEM filters/if I run out of my stash of OEM filters and forget to order from majestic!
OEM filter from my local dealer(stealer)ship costs over 12 bucks.

the OEM filter will not be discontinued dude...it's Honda we're talking about...and manufacturers are required by law to make parts for a car for like 25 + years...you're good man lol...and besides that same filter is prob used by at least 2 dozen other Honda cars that's a lowball number

Im just surprised no one wants to check it out! Its cheaper than a M1 filter that a lot of people purchase and from what I can see, it is EXACTLY a Honda PCX filter (outside detail, down to the holes and the ridges for the filter wrench at the bottom). Im just wondering if the oil drainback valve and such is the same...?
It's always good to have options!
I have a stash of 5-6 OEM filters at any given time...but its always nice to know.
Also, IIRC the Honda S2000 uses their OWN filter that it shares with no other Honda models....so I don't see why its not possible that they'll discontinue the filter and spec out a lower volume filter just to get cheaper on mfg of parts?

The official S2K Oil Filter thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=192750&st=0
ikeyballz, your link above did not work for me in Firefox or IE Exploder. Can you cite brand name and part number? I'm all for exploring items outside OEM. I'm partial to the WIX/NAPA Baldwin and Hastings brands in general ... but find that many of them offer just one filter for all Hondas and it's rather small.

Yeah, I've read the s2k official thread. This is a NEW filter, one I've never seen before spec'd out for the s2000. And its so similar to the OEM one that I'm wondering if it IS the OEM one.
Google oreily, and look for an s2k oil filter....its the beck/arnley filter.

You've stumbled onto something here. From some quick research, it seems 15400-PR3-003 & -004 (same filter, made by Tsuchiya and Toyo Roki, respectively) were 1) a "generic/universal" Honda filter in the 90s (Civics, Accords, Preludes, etc.), and 2) completely superseded about 10 years ago. I believe this filter was the worldwide-market equivalent of the PT7-005 (which was a general POS).
Like the PT7-005, it appears that PR3-003/4 WAS in fact a valid part number for the S2000 in its first year (1999). However, this was probably an initial "default" filter, since by the time the car got to the U.S. in Sep. '99, it was already superseded by PR3-014. In fact, it appears to have been superseded in all applications around that time; I doubt you can get them from Honda anymore (you might be able to order one but they'd probably send you a PLM-A01/A02 instead).
Anyway, I'll try to look into this a bit more and will update the OEM filter thread as needed... In the meantime I'd discourage the use of this filter (if you find any "new old stock") or any filters made to this spec, since they're probably the same as the PT7-005.
