Default oil jet bolt question

i was wondering i called honda a few weeks ago for pricing of a new top
and they asked for my vin-number so i gave it a few hours later
they called back for the price and they told me there was something
standing open that sould have been replaced under warranty
and it had something to do with the oil jets is this the upgrade
from 2 to 4 holes in the bolt or somthing else

thanks in advance and sorry for the bad spelling

Get it done, especially if you track the car or spend time on the AutoBahn.

Search is your friend.

So.. they want you to go spend money, or they are willing to do it for free?

Oil jet bolts squirt oil up on the crank for lubrication. From 00 to early 02, they used a 2 hole design that could cause starvation when the engine is being run very hard. The new bolts have 4 holes, squirt more evenly, and provide better lubrication.

I'd get it done.. well, I'd do it myself (it's fairly easy).

If you're in Europe, there's a tsb on it and they will fix it under warranty.
The US for some reason did not get that tsb

The vin# is on the car (chassis), so the original engine needed the update.
Your "new" engine may allready have it.
You need the vin# of the donor car.
What MY was the donor car?
All cars after MY 02 (IIRC - or MY03) have the updated oil jets.
