there was and old thread I was looking to resuscitate but couldn't find it

but anyways was curios now w/ the heat what everyone's oil pressure is at idle with the now kicking summer temps.

Mine averages 20psi at idle. I have a fast reading sender so the numbers jump around from like 17 to 23.


I see 90psi all day long at VTEC and even below VTEC just to add...

 

Around 28-30 p.s.i.at idle,and 90 p.s.i.under load,if my Autometer gauge is accurate.

 

Before I did the banjo bolts idle = 250kpa = 36.2PSI (Honda spec at idel)

After = 175kpa = 25.4PSI

 

Does compression ratio affect oil pressure (at idle or otherwise)? Reason I ask is b/c my CR is now at 8.5:1...and I'm seeing @ 21 psi at idle.

 

CR doesn't effect oil pressure.

Temperature, oil weight, bearing clearance, oil pressure relief valve spring, idle speed, all effect the pressure reading.

20psi is pretty typical at idle. 90-120 at WOT
