Default oil pump change

after fighting with the clutch change, and reinstalling the tranny. i notice the oil pump is leaking where the head meets the top of the casting of the oil pump. My guess is if and when it was changed prior they did not reseal it properly. S ap1 now has about 150k miles on it. I've tried the search function to get a graps how much work is involved. from what i can gather the oil pan needs to be dropped and besides removing the crank pulley, tensioner, serpentine belt and alt. does the tranny have to be loosend out? should i go ahead and put in a new pump? thanks in advance

I think maybe your confused as to which part your replacing?

Oil Pump = Located inside oil pan, bolted to the girdle. To change the oil pump you need to drop the oil pan and remove 2 12mm bolts and 1 10mm bolt. I dont recall if the front timing cover needs to be removed to access the oil guides tensioner bolts.

Water pump = Located on the side of right side of the motor drive by the serpentine belt. The water pump housing is bolted to the side of the block. The water pump itself is bolted to the housing facing the front of the engine bay. Its the largest out of the other pulleys. Comparable to the crank pulley.
