Oil question

Default Oil question

I just purhcased an 04 s2k with 7500 miles on it. If it has regular oil, at the next oil change can i put synthetic in or is that a no no. Any tips or advice would be helpful. TYIA

This is a pretty typical question and a very elementary one. I see you are new here, so I would direct you to the "Oil Journals":

or maybe wait another change before going synthetic just to make sure engine is fully broken in

Hey - I don't want to be an ass, but this is a common question, and it's not directly adressed in the Oil Journals "table of contents".

I see "Changing from Synthetic oil to Regular" but not regular to synthetic.

I know this is nit picking, but a lot of people ask this question, and the answer is always "go read the oil journals". Well, there's like 300 pages of stuff in there, and not a single one is labled "Changing From Regular To Synthetic". So newbies just go there, don't see the answer they are looking for, and go

No point in me telling him again.

I was merely directing him to the Oil Journals for other questions he might have about oils. I was also suggesting he look at the other FAQs since he was new here.
