Default ok...help! cooling issue

ok. I put the motor in and everything. Hooked everything up and started it right up for a second before any coolant was in it to make sure it ran. Well it started right up. It ran for about 5 seconds before I shut it off to fill it up with coolant. So I filled it up as much as I could and started it. Well I started up and ran.

Problem 1 -It will idle just fine. But If I give it gas and let it off and it goes back down and just cuts off. I unplug the clip that is plugged into the sensor in the outside of the intake mani. that has coolant run through it right after the throttle body it will go back down to idle perfectly...

Is the sensor bad??

Problem 2 -Well I let the car idle to see if the fans cut on and it dosnt over heat.
The first time I had the old thermostat in it and it got up to four bars on the heat gauge and blow the upper radiator hose off and the fans never seemed to cut on.
The second time I took the thermostat out to make sure it wasnt stuck shut and I filled it back up and started it. It ran up to four bars agian and blue the lower radiator hose off. The fans never cut on.
The third time I put a new thermostat in it and filled it up and ran it. It got to four bars and blew the lower radiator hose off.

Now when it blows off the is only on four bars for about 20 seconds before it blows..

Reasons???? Now the first time the over flow tank was empty.. after it ran it filled up. Every time it ran it just filled it up more and it never seemed to take the fluid back..

I need this think to work..

First of all you should never start an engine without coolant, even for just a couple of seconds. Those thin cylinder walls get very hot very fast. You also should have followed the service manual on filling an empty engine--you can't just fill the radiator and fire it up.

If you're lucky you can fill it properly and everything is OK but it wouldn't surprise me if you have some serious problems now.

you had a ton of air in the cooling system, 100% guaranteed.

A new engine will need at LEAST 3 bleed cycles to purge the air.

Your CTS is reading air...thats why you blew a hose. you'll be lucky if you didnt warp the head or score a cylinder.

Search my bleed procedure and your car will be fine. Trust me. IF you didnt damage it already.

ok... so I ran the car for until it got to three bars. since the fans never turned I made sure they worked by hooking them up to twelve volt. I ran them when the car got to three bars. It sat for quite a while on three bars and never went over that.

But I am still having troubles with the idle air control valve on the intake. Right when I start it, it will idle and rev fine. But as soon as I seem to get two or three bars on the temp gauge it will not go back to idle if I give it gas. It just cuts off when it goes back down as if the idle air cintile valve is not opening back up.

Should I just go for it and get a new sensor or what?

Got the IACV cleaned out and all and thats that... Now just the fan issue. I wanted to see if the relay was the issue. I switched them out with the other relays and nothing. Then I took two wires and branched over the connections. I did this to the condensor fan first and it worked, I took out the relay to the other fan... So I switched the relay to the condensor fan and branched the other fan over with wires. It turned on, until I took the relay out of the condensor fan and the main fan turned off..

Anyone know why?
