OK, so i just swapped out my 2001 ap1 engine and trans for an ap2 engine an trans, started the car and everything is fine but the engine is idling at 2k rpm and the motor is getting really hot for some reason. Could it be a vaccum leak causing the engine to run lean and get hotter? Any help would be really great i just spent over 3500 on this swap and it really starting to piss me off..lol

 

Is your temp gauge showing temp rising? or its just hot under the hood? As far as idle check your throttle cable and position

 

Proper coolant bleeding?

I'd suspect a vacuum line on the high idle. Check around the intake manifold for a loose connection. You're going to need to define "getting hot" also. Is it hot to the touch or temp gauge too hot?

 

ok , i found the problem it was the coolent not bleeding right and the throttle body spring need to be re set.
